The Killer Engine is the current project that I am actively working on. It is a prototype of a 2D game engine that I am using as a way to teach myself how to program game engine systems.
It include several libraries that I am working on include Killer Math, Killer Physics and Killer AI. I hope to make all of these libraries generic enough that you could use them in any project, and easy enough to use that anyone who wanted to start picking up games could not only make a game prototype pretty quickly, but they could also understand the source code and learn a little more about how to make games.
Part of me wants to just make the whole project become open source, just so that I can share it with people, but I honestly don’t want other people to edit the project with me, as I want to be kind of learn it on my own. My feelings on this matter may change as time goes on, we’ll see.
Boxes Vs Triangles:
This is the first game that I am making with the engine. As I’ll share some screenshots someday, there just isn’t much to see right now.
The game revolves around moving a team of boxes through a series of mazes, while avoiding and destroying a triangle army that is just trying to kill you. I hope that its fun, but more than anything I hope that I can finish it sooner rather than later.
I have a list of things that need to get done and it seems like for everything that I actually finish, there are 100 things that come up that stop me from being able to actually finish what I have started.
